To load a calling list into ICTDialer, first create a contact group under CRM > Customer > Contact Group, then import your records under CRM > Customer > Contacts > Import and point them at that group. ICTDialer accepts CSV, ODS and XLS files, and it can also copy an existing group.

Before you begin
Contacts and leads hold the customer information your campaigns use, such as name, telephone number and email address. Grouping those records makes it much easier to pick the right audience for each campaign.
- Prepare your data as a CSV, ODS or XLS file, or identify an existing group you want to copy.
- Use consistent column headings and one consistent telephone number format.
- Check that every record carries the data your campaign needs, above all a valid phone number.
- Remove anyone who must not be contacted, and follow the consent and do-not-call rules that apply to you.
1. Create a contact group
Navigation path: CRM > Customer > Contact Group > Add New
- Open the ICTDialer navigation menu and select CRM.
- Under Customer, select Contact Group.
- Review the existing groups. From this list you can view, edit or delete a group and inspect the contacts inside it.
- Select Add New in the upper-right corner.
- Fill in the group details and select Save.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Title | A clear name that identifies the list, campaign, source or target audience. |
| Description | Optional. Explain where the list came from or what it is for. |
| Group Type | Select the group type your deployment requires. For a standard uploaded calling list, use the internal contact option. |
2. Import contacts or leads
Navigation path: CRM > Customer > Contacts > Import
- Open CRM and, under Customer, select Contacts.
- Select Import to open the Import Contacts page.
- Choose the source type that matches your data.
- Upload the source file, or choose the existing group you want to copy.
- Select the target group that will receive the records.
- Review any extra import options the system shows.
- Select Save to start the import.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Upload Contacts via Standard File | Imports from a supported spreadsheet file such as ODS or XLS. |
| Upload Contacts via CSV File | Imports from a comma-separated values file. |
| Copy Contacts from Existing Groups | Copies records from a group that already exists in ICTDialer. |
| Target Group | The contact group the records land in. |
3. Verify the imported data
- Go back to CRM > Customer > Contact Group.
- Open the target group and check that the record count matches what you expected.
- Spot-check a handful of records for names, phone numbers, email addresses and any custom fields.
- Fix formatting or mapping problems before you attach the group to a live campaign.
Data quality: A clean list lifts your answer rate, keeps reporting accurate and saves agent time. Correct duplicate, invalid or badly formatted numbers before you launch.
Data preparation habits that pay off
- Keep a backup of the original source file before you import it.
- Use a separate group per campaign, source, region or priority level where that is practical.
- Stick to internationally consistent phone number formatting when your SIP provider expects it.
- Test a small sample campaign before you turn a large list loose.
What to do next
With a verified group in place you are ready to build the campaign that dials it. Follow the predictive campaign setup guide, and make sure your agents have read the agent panel guide before the first shift.
Frequently asked questions
Which file formats can I import?
CSV, ODS and XLS. You can also copy records from a contact group that already exists in ICTDialer.
Can I import into a group that already has contacts?
Yes. Select that group as the target and the new records are added to it. Check the record count afterwards so you know exactly what landed.
What is the difference between a contact and a lead?
Both hold customer data, and both can be dialed. When you build a campaign you choose Contact or Lead as the source, so keep your groups consistent with the record type you plan to call.
My numbers were rejected. What went wrong?
Almost always formatting. Use one consistent number format across the whole file, and match what your SIP provider expects for international dialing.
Do I need a separate group for every campaign?
Not strictly, but it helps. Separate groups make reporting cleaner and let you set dialing priorities when a campaign uses more than one group.
